PORSCHE 356 SL COUPE / PORSCHE MUSEUM ZUFFENHAUSEN

Starting in 1948, the roadster prototype No.1 is succeeded by the first 356 light alloy coupes, enabling Porsche to participate in auto racing.The engine is relocated behind the rear axle, and even without a wind tunnel the aluminium body has a very long drag coefficient.The french Porsche importer Auguste Feuillet achieves an average speed of 118 km/h, which earns him a class victory in his very first attempt.
