A special tail unit for the 908 long tail version with two tail fins and a traverse wing, whose flaps move with the spring deflection of the rear wheels, to take full advantage of the power of the eightcylinder engine. The 908 celebrates it's premiere at Le Mans in 1968. After ''theething troubles'' at the onset, the race car, now with aluminium tubular space frame, proves it's reliability and stamina in the 1969 saison and captures second place after a gripping race against Ickx and Oliver.
