The fifth edition of the Edelweiss-Mountain Prize Rossfeld Berchtesgaden took place from 28.09. to 30.09.2018 and captivated thousands of spectators once again.
The six-kilometer-long track on the scenic road with a difference in altitude of 700 meters was again the perfect stage for over 150 rare racing and sports cars, 16 historic motorcycles and 25 vintage buses. Initiator Joachim Althammer put together a starter field from the very best. From the Triumph TR2 Le Mans, over the Maserati Tipo 63 Serenissima to the BMW Schnitzer 2800 CS – a feast for the eyes and ears of all fans of historic motorsport. Walter Röhrl, ambassador of the event, drove the 911 Röhrl signature Porsche, which was decorated with exactly 911 Walter Röhrl autographs – Frank Biela, the five times Le Mans winner sat behind the wheel of the original DTM champion car of 1990, the Audi V8 quattro and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the death of Lodovico Scarfiotti there was a presentation of extraordinary Italian racing cars.
As a spectator you felt set back into the great times of the famous mountain race and it was a great experience to feel this very special atmosphere. Not to forget: the entire proceeds of the event will benefit the Lebenshilfe Berchtesgaden, who will support people with disabilities with it. The date for the sixth edition of the Rossfeld race is already fixed – it will take place from 25.09. to 27.09.2020.
